Fadedstorm lay next to his mother, her cool blood soaking his black fur. The young warrior looked at his mother, Nightsong's, black-and-white fur, plastered with scarlet. Fadedstorm looked around him, his eyes full of sorrow, as he stared at the dead bodies of his clanmates.
Fadedstorm heard his father, Graystreak's, breaths became quieter, as the gray tabby tom's death drew near.
How could the brave RainClan be dead?
Fadedstorm unsheathed his claws, digging them into the blood-matted soil. TalonClan. he thought, his ears flattening to his head as he thought of the traitorous clan. Just because RainClan refused to give them more territory, and while Fadedstorm was on a patrol, TalonClan attacked, killing every cat while taking some prisoners.
Looking at Nightsong one last pitiful time, he stood up, the heavy feeling of grief weighing down on the young warrior. Where are Tanglefire, Flowerpaw and Darklight? Fadedstorm thought, drowning out the noise of his fathers last breaths.
Fadedstorm heavily padded up to Graystreak, his eyes dull. The gray tabby toms milky green eyes stared into nothingness, while blood trickled from his mouth, dripping onto the soil and mixing in. Fadedstorm buried his face into his fathers fur one last time, before turning to look for the three survivors.
Mixed pelts from dead cats blurred the horizon of his vision. Fadedstorm tasted the air, revealing rows of sharp white teeth. Through the heavy scent of death and blood, Fadedstorm finally found the warm scent of his friends Tanglefire and Darklight, and his best friends sister, Flowerpaw. The black tom waved through the mass of bodies, feeling a cool spin of air blow through his fur.
Tanglefire and Flowerpaw were crouched underneath a bracken bush outside of the camp, their eyes fogged with grief. Tanglefire pressed closer to Flowerpaw as the sandy brown tom asked the question that all three of them were thinking of, "Any survivors?" he growled lowly.
Fadedstorm took a deep breath before even answering. "No." he whispered, his paws churning the mossy forest floor. Fadedstorm looked for black-and-white coat of Darklight, but couldn't find the medicine cat apprentice anywhere. "Where's Darklight?" he mewed protectively, worry washing over him. Had TalonClan taken him?
Tanglefire's eyes drifted towards the gap between two bracken bushes. "He went to find poppy seeds for Flowerpaw. She's nearly worried out of her little body for...Gorsestrike," Tanglefire muttered, turning to give the small she-cat's ear a lick.
Flowerpaw flicked Tanglefire's ear before turning wide-eyed to Fadedstorm. "Is Gorsestrike there?" she asked, her voice seeming small and scared. Should she be relieved or frightened that he's not? Fadedstorm thought before answering.
"No," he mewed. Flowerpaw frowned, her green gaze dropping.
Tanglefire pressed his muzzle to Flowerpaw's. "Birchstar sent him with Hawkfang and Snowfeather on a patrol to spy on TalonClan..I didn't see any of them return." he murmured, his amber eyes glazed.
Fadedstorm's fur prickled. He didn't know that RainClan's leader, Birchstar, had sent the deputy, Hawkfang, and a trusted warrior, Snowfeather, on a patrol to spy on TalonClan, along with Fadedstorm's best friend, Gorsestrike.
Flowerpaw's eyes went wide. "Birchstar shouldn't have sent my brother on such a dangerous patrol!" she hissed.
Fadedstorm lay next to her other side, licking her cheek. "Gorsestrike is one of the strongest cats we know. He couldn't have been beaten, not by a coward like Ravenstar," he reassured her, pressing close to the small apprentice. Flowerpaw rested her head on Tanglefire's shoulder, before letting out a small sob.
Tanglefire looked at Fadedstorm with grief, before turning his attention back on comforting Flowerpaw. Darklight shouldn't be gone for this long... Fadedstorm thought, his head swerving around to try and find the dark tom.
Just on cue, Darklight's broad head peeked from the gap between the two bracken bushes, leaves and poppy seeds hanging from his mouth. The medicine cat apprentice's gray eyes brightened when he saw Fadedstorm, and he walked over, his paws lightly skimming the ground.
Darklight padded to Flowerpaw, setting the seeds at her paws. "Here," he mewed, nudging them to her. "eat these. They'll ease your pain," he murmured.
Flowerpaw blinked gratefully at Darklight. "Thank you, Darklight," she muttered, before bending her head over to lap up the seeds.
Fadedstorm stared out into the thick forest around him, the dark, tall, ominous beech trees looming over them. The black tom gestured with his tail for Darklight to settle beside him, before turning to his four friends. "Our clan...is destroyed. We're the only ones left, because we decided to do a small border patrol along the CedarClan border. We must get out of here, before Ravenstar and his minions decide to do a check on the...bodies. Rest, my friends. We leave tomorrow at sunhigh," he mewed.
Tanglefire didn't reply, he just settled his head next to Flowerpaw's, who was already sleeping from the poppy seeds that Darklight had given her. Darklight curled up, his black-and-white fur almost blending into his surroundings. Fadedstorm looked at his friends, before resting his head on his paws, and slowly drifting into sleep.
How y'all like it? It doesn't make much sense, but it will later on. If your cat wasn't in this post, then it won't be for awhile. If you have another cat that you rp, and it wasn't in this post, then please enjoy to make your comments of it's life as a rouge or kittypet for me to get a feel of what to make your cat like in my posts.
Gorsestrike is dead for the four, so please don't include him in your comments unless Flowerpaw, Tanglefire, Darklight, and Fadedstorm are talking about him.
Please try not to make your other cats just rouges. Make some of them kittypets too!
(I used the "Name/URL" thing, so you know when I comment!)
ReplyDeleteFlowerpaw was asleep from the poppy seeds, and suddenly woke up. She looked around, then realizing that their was a huge fight. And her brother was dead. She looked up at Fadedstorm, eyes clouded.
~Flowerpaw
Fadedstorm looked at Flowerpaw, pressing closer to her. Looking out into the entrance of camp, were only the thinest lining of bodies could be seen, Fadedstorm looked back at Flowerpaw.
ReplyDelete"Thinking about Gorsestrike?" he murmured, resting his dark tail on her shoulders.
Flowerpaw nodded slowly. She looked up at him, her eyes huge. "Do you think he will be alright?"
ReplyDelete~Flowerpaw
Fadedstorm blinked slowly, his reassuring nature slowly sinking into the pit of his stomach. He didn't-he couldn't know what to say to the tiny apprentice to make her feel any better than all of them were.
ReplyDeleteSlowly, and delicately, he mewed, "I know he'll be okay."
Flowerpaw leaned into Fadedstorm, and buried her face in his muscular chest. "I hope he is alright," she whimpered.
ReplyDelete~Flowerpaw
Fadedstorm blinked helplessly, his gaze sad when he looked at little Flowerpaw whimpering like a small kit into his chest. Voice crackling and spirits broken, he replied sadly.
ReplyDelete"I hope so too..."
"Is their anything that I could do..? Like help somehow?" she asked. She locked her green gaze with amber gaze.
ReplyDelete~Flowerpaw
Fadedstorm shook his head. "No. The damage is done here, and I won't allow you to see your mother and father like that..." Fadedstorm muttered, thinking about Nightsong and Graystreak.
ReplyDeleteFlowerpaw looked at her paws. "Yes Fadedstorm.." she muttered, obeying his word.
ReplyDelete~Flowerpaw
Fadedstorm sighed. "If they did catch Hawkfang, Snowfeather and Gorsestrike, I know Ravenstar wouldn't let a good fighter like Gorsestrike go to waste." He paused, thinking of what to add. "Ravenstar may be a coward, but he's smart about those things," he growled a bit, the thought of Ravenstar making grief and anger roll in.
ReplyDeleteFlowerpaw looked up at him. He would make a great leader. "A-are you going to be leader?" she asked suddenly.
ReplyDelete~Flowerpaw
Fadedstorm looked at Flowerpaw. "L-leader? Of RainClan? I'm not leader material, and if I were to even consider...." He struggled for the right words. "We would never stay here." he said at last.
ReplyDeleteTanglefire walked over to Flowerpaw and Fadedstorm, "You two alright?" He asked.
ReplyDeleteSwift was padding just outside of the two-leg nest curiously. He had noticed a creamy, ginger tabby she-cat nights before and she seemed as young as him. He wanted to get to know her better, as a loner life was hard. At a young age his mother left him and his littermates and later on his littermates left him. He was lonely and needed a friend.
Sora, a creamy ginger tabby she-cat was meowing for her owners to let her outside. She loved being outside, something about the forest made her feel alive. Though she heard of the forest cats that roamed the woods and stories about them scared her. Sometimes she'd see cats duck in and out of the ferns in the forest but other than that she hadn't really met any.
"So we would move somewhere else and form a clan?" she asked again. Her heart began to ache when she thought of leaving her dead brother behind if they left. She looked over at Tanglefire, and faintly smiled.
ReplyDelete~Flowerpaw
Fadedstorm looked at Tanglefire, one of his best friends. Searching his gaze, Fadedstorm narrowed his eyes.
ReplyDelete"What do you think?"
Flowerpaw looked back and forth from Tanglefire to Shadedstorm.
ReplyDelete~Flowerpaw
"I think it's what we need to do, though we may have to recruit other cat's. Like kittypets and rouges and the such," Tanglefire meowed.
ReplyDeleteFadedstorm got up, his limbs aching. He inhaled before looking at his friends. "We need to cross through MapleClan and TalonClan territory before we can go through the twoleg territory to do anything." he mewed, flicking his tail.
ReplyDelete"And find Gorsestrike's body?!" Flowerpaw's ears shot up and she staggered to her paws. She looked hopefully at Tanglefire and Fadedstorm.
ReplyDelete~Flowerpaw
Fadedstorm looked at Flowerpaw sternly. "And what if he isn't dead?" he questioned.
ReplyDelete"Than he can travel with us!" Flowerpaw mewed cheerfully, could Gorsestrike be alive??
ReplyDelete~Flowerpaw
"But...what if he was taken as a prisoner into TalonClan? Flowerpaw, there are many things that could've happened to Gorsestrike." he reminded her.
ReplyDelete"It's a possibility he's still alive, I mean we never found his body yet," Tanglefire meowed.
ReplyDeleteSora was let out by her owners and leaped over the fence. She wanted to explore the forest for once but worry made her hesitate. What if the forest cats attacked her? Suddenly she saw a flash of black and white and flattened to the ground.
"It's alright," The black and white tom emerged from the ferns. "I'm Swift, I saw you a couple days ago and I guess I just needed someone to talk to.
Flowerpaw sighed. "You right.." she mumbled. Her ears flattened to her head. What if she never saw her brother again?! She looked over at Tanglefire, was he right?
ReplyDelete~Flowerpaw
Fadedstorm let his back fur rise. He pushed Flowerpaw behind him before rounding on this 'Swift'. "Oh?" He looked back at Tanglefire, feeling quite suspicious of this new kit. He mouthed 'spy' before turning back to Swift.
ReplyDelete(Their just really skeptical.)
Flowerpaw widened her eyes.
ReplyDelete~Flowerpaw
Darklight kept one eye open, just in case something happened, still half sleeping and half awake.
ReplyDeleteSora heard a rustle and padded forward, curiousity getting the better of her. She soon spotted four other cats and her hackles raised in fear.
ReplyDelete"Are you Clan cats?" Swift asked curiously.
Tanglefire nodded and stood beside Fadedstorm.
Fadedstorm didn't need to reply to this kit. "Are you from TalonClan? Sent by Ravenstar?" he retorted sharply.
ReplyDeleteFlowerpaw tried to look over Tanglefire's shoulders. What was going on?! TalonClan?!
ReplyDelete~Flowerpaw
"What's a TalonClan?" Swift asked, "and I don't know any 'Ravenstar'."
ReplyDeleteFlowerpaw padded to Shadedstorm's side. She looked at the two newcomers. They looked like her age, just a little younger.
ReplyDeleteFadedstorm scanned the kit up and down. He didn't even look five moons old. "You're not from TalonClan. I'm sorry for being skeptical, were all just frightened." he mewed.
ReplyDelete"Why is that?" Swift tilted his head curiously.
ReplyDeleteSora watched the bigger cats anxiously. Would they hurt her? She saw Flowerpaw looked at her and closed her eyes tight.
Tanglefire looked at Sora, "There's no need to be scared, kittypet. We aren't going to hurt you."
Flowerpaw sighed, looking at the two. She cocked her head to one side, and looked up at Shadedstorm.
ReplyDeleteFadedstorm looked as both kits stood. How could he explain the slaughtering of RainClan without breaking down? Carefully, he decided that it could be best to show them...if it didn't scar them for life.
ReplyDelete"Please, follow me." he muttered, flicking his tail.
Flowerpaw straightened up, and started walking beside Fadedstorm. She closed her eyes for moments, remembering her brother. Could she give up her hope for her brother being alive?
ReplyDeleteSora didn't move. Terror made her unable too.
ReplyDeleteSwift leaped up with excitment. What would he be shown?
Flowerpaw stopped and went over to Sora. "C'mon," she urged her. She nudged her forward a bit.
ReplyDeleteFadedstorm looked at the small kittypet. "It's fine," he mewed softly. "You'll be fine." Fadedstorm padded to the entrance of RainClan camp, before moving over the vines with his tail for the two cats to see.
ReplyDeleteSora flinched when Flowerpaw nudged her but relaxed. It didn't seem like the she-cat would hurt her. She stood up and peered forward, at the sight of the ruined RainClan her eyes widened with horror.
ReplyDeleteSwift looked forward and saw the camp. "That's horrible! Did this 'TalonClan' do it?"
"Yes, and my brother.. is.." Flowerpaw meowed, but was too grief-stricken to reply. Her eyes welled with tears.
ReplyDeleteFadedstorm gulped. "Yes. They took some cats," When Swift's eyes eased up, Fadedstorm narrowed his eyes. "But they did this. Those cats either were traitors to RainClan, or were taken by force." he growled.
ReplyDeleteFlowerpaw took in a deep breath.
ReplyDeleteFlowerpaw looked from one dead cat to the next. She shuddered.
ReplyDelete"This was your home?" Swift asked. "I don't understand why cats are that cold-hearted to do this."
ReplyDeleteSora looked at Flowerpaw sympathetically, "I'm sorry about your brother," understanding what she meant.
Tanglefire let his gaze drop to his paws, grief welling up inside him at the thought of his lost clanmates.
Jadeshine was running through the bushes when she stopped. The smell of blood was almost overwhelming. She crept forward and spotted a handsome begal tabby. She gasped, "Are you alright?"
Fadedstorm blinked at Swift. "As a life on your own, I can completely see why you think this. Life of our four clans, MapleClan, CedarClan, RainClan and TalonClan was not always this way. The leader before Ravenstar, Ebonystar, was great, but she died, and Ravenstar came after." he explained.
ReplyDeleteFlowerpaw looked over at Sora, and smiled.. barely. She looked around again, at all of the dead bodies. A chill rose up her spine.
ReplyDeleteGorsestrike stirred where he lay in the ground. His face and belly were in the ground, and he rolled onto his side. He opened his eyes slowly, attempted to stand, but couldn't. He looked up at her.
"I'm assuming Ebonystar was a loyal cat, unlike this Raventstar," Swift meowed.
ReplyDelete"Things will get better," Sora meowed to Flowerpaw. "It always does, no matter how dark it may seem."
"Don't stand," Jadeshine looked behind her to see if she could hear anything. Nothing. She walked over to the tom and looked him up and down. "What happened?" Though she already new the awnser.
Fadedstorm sighed. "Yes. She was. Ravenstar's blood ran cold a long while ago," he sighed, his eyes dropping.
ReplyDelete"I hope so," Flowerpaw replied in a soft tone to Sora.
ReplyDelete"TalonClan.. attacked patrol.." Gorsestrike rasped, and looked at the dead cats beside him.
"What're you going to do about this?" Swift asked.
ReplyDelete"It will, don't worry," Sora smiled.
Jadeshine closed her eyes, "I'm sorry for your loss. You're RainClan right? Come on, are you able to walk? We need to leave. Now."
Fadedstorm looked at Swift. "There's nothing to do." he sighed.
ReplyDeleteFlowerpaw looked at her paws.
ReplyDeleteGorsestrike hauled himself to his paws. His ears pricked, alerted.
"What about rebuilding this?" Swift asked, not knowing what to call it.
ReplyDeleteSora sat by Flowerpaw quietly, not knowing what else to say that might cheer up the she-cat.
Jadeshine stood up his side incase he need support. "Where's your camp?" She asked, not adding that there might not be a camp left.
Fadedstorm looked at Tanglefire and Flowerpaw. "We're thinking of doing that." Fadedstorm looked to Swift and Sora. "We will need help," he mewed, inching them towards joining.
ReplyDeleteFlowerpaw kneaded her paw against the ground. She sighed.
ReplyDeleteGorsestrike flicked his tail over to RainClan camp. But he stopped.
(Is Jadeshine from TalonClan?)
(Yeah)
ReplyDelete"I'll help! I've nothing better to do!" Swift volunteered.
Sora looked at Fadedstorm, "I have owners..."
"Why're you stopping?" Jadeshine let out an impatient hiss.
"Two-legs don't help us," Flowerpaw meowed to Sora.
ReplyDelete"Your a TalonClan cat. Why would you help me?" Gorsestrike asked.
Fadedstorm grinned at Swift before turning to Sora. She was a kittypet. She probably wouldn't come with them.
ReplyDelete"What I meant was, I can't leave my owners," Sora meowed quietly.
ReplyDelete"What gave it away? The wretched smell?" Jadeshine meowed crossly. "I'm helping because I hate that Clan. After Ebonystar died and Ravenstar became leader the Clan became dark. I don't want to be apart of that, therefore I'm running, now let's go," she urged.
Sora thought for a moment. "I guess I could come... I've always felt better in the forest than in my home."
Fadedstorm padded to Sora. "It won't be a joyride either. You could go hungry, attacked, and face more death." he murmured, warning her of everything beforehand.
ReplyDelete"You should join our.." she was about to say clan, but instead said "group!" If Sora joined, Flowerpaw would have a friend.
ReplyDeleteGorsestrike blinked. "But the cat bodies?" he pressed. He looked at their bodies, paws splayed out in front of them.
"I'm not a soft "kittypet"," Sora meowed, using the word the cats used for her. "I know how to fend for myself and I'm willing to give up my pampered life to join you."
ReplyDelete"There's nothing we can do, we have to go!" Jadeshine snapped hoping her father wasn't after her.
Fadedstorm let out a faint sigh. "I see that you're sure. I'm warning you beforehand, though, so that you know. Don't blame me or Tanglefire, Flowerpaw or Darklight." he mewed.
ReplyDelete"Yay!" Flowerpaw purred. she bounded up to Sora.
ReplyDeleteGorsestrike looked at his fallen clanmates once more before limping off after Jadeshine.
"I won't be blaming anyone," Sora meowed camly.
ReplyDeleteJadeshine paused, "What's wrong with you? I mean, what's hurt."
Flowerpaw's eyes sparked.
ReplyDelete"I have a gash on my side, notches in my ears, everything visible." Gorsestrike stopped walking.
Fadedstorm looked to Swift to Sora. "You two, welcome to our group. If you haven't meet everyone... My name is Fadedstorm." he introduced himself.
ReplyDelete"Flowerpaw," she introduced herself.
ReplyDeleteJadeshine nodded, disappeared and came back limping. A wad of cobwebs one her paw. She hobbled to his side and pulled strands of cobweb and placed him on his side and wrapped a few around his ears that were scratched. "Better?" She asked.
ReplyDelete"Swift," The black and white tom dipped his head to the other cats.
"My owners called my Sora," She meowed.
"My name's Tanglefire," he introduced himself.
"Over there's Darklight," he mewed, indicating to the black-and-white tom. Fadedstorm looked at his added group. "With six of us, we can begin to grow our...clan." he breathed, his eyes flickering back and forth.
ReplyDelete"Better than before." Gorsestrike smiled a little. "And thanks."
ReplyDeleteFlowerpaw beamed.
"What would it be called?" Swift asked.
ReplyDeleteTanglefire sighed, he'd miss RainClan and his fallen clanmates.
Jadeshine smiled back and than let out a short sigh. "Look, I'm sorry I was... snappy, earlier it's just seeing you hurt and seeing you...clanmates made me angry with myself and my father. I don't want to be apart of TalonClan and that's why I left."
"You could join RainClan-" Gorsestrike cut himself off. What if his clan was totally destroyed??
ReplyDelete"I couldn't do that," Jadeshine looked at him. "Even if your clan... survived, no one would want a TalonClan cat in their camp."
ReplyDelete"You saved me. Thats enough," Gorsestrike meowed.
ReplyDelete"Some of your clanmates may not think that way," Jadeshine meowed.
ReplyDelete"But I think that way, and I will convince whoever is leader when I get back, that you deserve to be part of RainClan."
ReplyDelete~Gorsestrike
"But I didn't technically save your life, I found you and put cobwebs on your cuts, hardly worthy of the forgivness from your clan, did I forget to mention I'm Blazefang's daughter. the deputy of TalonClan," Jadeshine meowed.
ReplyDeleteGorsestrike shook his head. "I know TalonClan well enough. If they found me alive, they would of killed me," he growled.
ReplyDelete
